yeaaa you read right lol, wen to home depot, and baught me some oak with a piece of poplar for the riser, took me about 6 hours to make, the bow, I dont know wat to call it lol, from the riser it starts out as a normal board bow for a few inches out, then the limbs become round I guess you can say like an English longbow, I have to buy a string for it since the ones I made can only last one shot lol, the bow is 66" long and pulls at what I feel to be 60+ pounds
not the prettiest bow, but eh, only cost as much as a pack of feathers when you think about it lol

Nice Job,
I will be out of town this weekend but Monday I will build you a string and mail it to you ASAP if you would like EMAIL your address and I will get it to you
I made one from a fifty cent cutoff piece of hickory from the local hardwood store's scrap pile. Of course I had to name it "fiddy". Guess with the string I made and the scrap piece I used for the riser it's probably closer to $5 but still a bargain. Shot great for a while at 60lbs but didn't exercise it enough in building and lower limb got weaker over time. Still shoots though.
Good job! Are you going to hunt with it this season?
thanks sabas!!
and Ben, thats what I'm planning on, it hits pretty hard, and its quite and smooth! =D
I....think this is the first bow I ever made that I am completely confident in for hunting with!
AAAAaaaaaahhhhhhhh....
Self-sufficiency....just what a good TradGanger needs in this shaky economy!!! My Pappy would be proud of you!
Great job
