Title: Powder Coat
Post by: Bob G on October 03, 2008, 11:38:00 AM
I have an old Take Down with a mag riser. The paint is chipping badly, and I was thinking about re-painting it. What about Powder Coating? Has anyone done this, does it hold up better than paint, and is it expensive? Thank ya'll

I had one done by a guy on Tradtalk. Sorry, can't remember his name, but it came out nicely, and cost around $35.00, as I recall. You can take it to a shop locally, but they usually have a minimum charge of around $75.00. I have painted a couple, too, and they turned out well, but are not as sturdy as the powdercoat. Lots cheaper, though.

Good luck!

If you look into some of the tool sites, you can find that powder coating equipment isn't that expensive and realtively easy to do.

You could also have Sipsey River camo dip the whole works !
