i just finished tuning a new arrow out of my bob lee recurve, 54#@28". the two arrows that i have flying great out of it are,( both with 240gr b/head) 1- g/tip 35/55, std insert 3gr/"wt tube, 590gr total, 21% FOC. 2- g/tip 55/75, 100gr brass insert, 620gr total, 26% FOC. both fly as well as each other. i hunt mainly pigs, deer, goats, scrub bulls, anything really. this bow will also be coming to canada with me on my working/hunting holiday. so, choose your weapon.
both seem great, but if they are both good fliers and you are hunting, not 3-D shooting, I would lean to the heavier of the two.heavy arrow with your plenty of FOC would likely puch through just about anything I would guess. Likely is a bit quieter too.
Bob.
I would definitley go with the heavier arrow.
Yeah, mate, the latter. After seeing my mate struggle at times (in other words, darn-near get killed by a massive boar) with his recurve and light arrows on pigs (he has rectified the situation), I'd definitely go with that heavier one.
yep thats what i thought. will have to use up the 17 lighter arrows i have left first though.
