A few weeks ago, I was blessed enough to have received 12 absolutely beautiful 3 rivers hunters arrows from an extremely great man in New York out of the kindness of his heart. All equipped with the EXACT tips I was going to go buy and spend who knows how much on. I am fifteen and just starting out in Trad archery, and loving it, but I am going through the arrows like crazy!!! W/in a few days, I have broken 4 of my 5 field points. One of them went through my target and shattered right behind it on a rock (I have a better target now :biglaugh: ), two of them were just plain bad shots and hit the fence behind the target (now I have a different backstop :biglaugh: ), and the last one hit the point in my target that had previously fallen off of another arrow and broken. I feel like my accuracy and form is better than ever, and I hope that a couple of bad shots doesn't mean forty bucks out of my pocket again. Just had to blow off some steam and tell everyone on this site...and does this happen to you? VERY frustrating!!! -Lee
have you tried shooting at the Hill country bowhunters range off hw29. Not much to join and a nice range
You'll get better, we all break arrows and snap off points and lose a few here and there, it's part of the deal I think soo don't get frustrated! Best part about breakin an arrow is carrying the pieces around under your nose for the rest of the day! Love the smell of a broken cedar shaft- Godd luck buddy and good shooting- stay with it!!!!
There are 5 broken cedar arrows leaning against the wall to the right of me. I enjoyed making them. I enjoyed shooting them. Now that their time has passed, I enjoy seeing them.
I loose\\break an arrow about one out of every 5 times I go out to shoot, but sometimes I'll find them later
Just part of the game. Still cheaper than shooting a rifle.
Yep, Lost Arrows come with that Learning Curve thing! I remember the Lady at My Local "General" Sports Shop, asking me, "Did You Lose those first 12 already??". :confused:

So Step a little Closer to the Target, after you get that Range in your Melon, Back Up and Shoot 'em Again!! "BEEN THERE............" :thumbsup:
I built some nice woodies for the first time and broke one on the second shot and broke tips of like they were finger nails. Just goes with the turf my friend. Practice anyway!
If they're broken near the point, Reparrows will fix them.
Freeman- I was thinking about that and you are most definately right. I used to shoot a .243 (one of the most common calibers) and a box of 20 rounds would cost forty dollars as well. I did get hundreds and hundreds of shots in with those arrows, and it really is a cheaper way of having fun. Still frustrating...... -Lee

I used to break arrows left and right as well, until I switched to Ash shafts. Raptor Archery sells em for a decent price.
I finally broke down and bought some grizz sticks and on my second shot I robin hooded the first arrow. I was not very happy with that outcome. Figured out to be about a $20 arrow that I got to shoot one time!!!
