If you were going to buy new binos and you just had $100.00 to spend. What would you buy?
Leupold Yosemite 6x30.
I've been thinking the same thing. So far I think I have it narrowed down to the Leupold Yosemite 6x30 or the Vortex Lighting 8x32's. Both are selling for $90. I'm leaning toward the 6x30's because I think the 6 power would be better for hunting small woodlots and thicker cover.

Second this.

Where have you found them for $90.00?
I like my Nikon 10x26 bino's They are small and handy and perfect for me. I spend a lot of time looking thru them and just can't seem to put the money into upgrading. The small size, although a hassle to some, makes them really nice for me. I wear them on a longer strap, actually a piece of paracord so that they hang on my right side. I can slip then into the pocket of my vest and they stay out of the way and are easy to get to. Still haven't gotten 36 or 42 mm glass binos because I would be giving up too much. I have 10 x 50's too and they are great... but man are they big. Gotta keep them in the backpack
I personally think 10x is not too big a power, even for "small wood lots".

I vote for the Yosemite 6x30 also. I've used them for a year and they are a good inexpensive binocular. Good for the deep dark woods!

I just got a set of the yosemite's largely based on Lin's input in a prior thread and a bunch of research. I ended up with the NWTF 8x30 instead of the 6x's though. I have always liked 8x better and they only weighed an oz. and a half more. You can easily get the 6x30's for around $87 delivered. I spent a little more on the nwtf finish, and the 8x, but I was still at $105 delivered. The regular 8x's were $99 delivered.
Optics planet I think. Great glass for the money.
Good Luck,
Nathan

Nikon Action-series 8x40. You won't be sorry. You really should check them out.
There are some good deals in the classified section...

if you intend to stay east, you may be OK. If you come out here, you often see deer at miles and elk and sheep farther than that. Good glass lets you determine whether or not a half day stalk is in order.
We say you have a choice of shoeleather or glass; good glass saves shoe leather.
Having hunted in PA, DE NC, VA, KY and MO for whitetails a 6X is just fine.
I got some Nikon Action 7 x 35's from Opticsplanet.com that I am happy with. $55 shipped. I thought about getting the 8 x 40's but they were more money and bigger, and I didn't think the difference between 7x and 8x would be very noticable for what I wanted them for (3d and general use).
