Title: Ace Super Express 200gr opinions?
Post by: Matabele on September 26, 2008, 05:54:00 AM
Hi all,

Hopefully going hunting in a couple weeks, was wondering what your thoughts were on this BH.

Im slightly worried about the unsupported tip, I'll Tanto it to prevent it curling but just wondering how tough this head is? Any experiences?

Thanks!

I really the big Ace Super Express, it takes a good edge very easily. I used it last year with good results and will use it again this year. Don't worry about it,it's a strong head.

I damaged one by shooting it into a hard branch and the cane shaft pushed so hard it damaged the socket of the head. The nice folks at Ace said it was warranted forever and would replace it. Use with confidence.

Flies great, easy to sharpen, good steel...my favorite whitetail broadhead.

I used to shoot them when I was hunting with a selfbow.  Never had a problem.  Took this boar with a 50# selfbow. Piled up 20 yards away from shot.

I used an 200 gr Ace Super Express mounted on a lam birch shaft to shoot my bison with, arrow entered through the onside elbow, sliced a big hole through the heart and ended up in the off leg. arrow broke when the bull stepped forward but I retrieved the head and it was fine. Put it on another arrow, resharpened and it is still in my quiver ready for duty.

Thanks guys. Well if it can take a bison I reckon it'll be good enough!

Hey Ryan, nice pig man you do a lot of hunting. Nice One!

I forgot to mention that Bob at Ace is a great person to deal with!

Just like Danny, I just reused the head after resharpening, cuz it had no noticible damage.  Here is the same head after a few of hunts.
