I'm shooting a 55# Grizzly with a Thunderhorn bow quiver on it. I love the bow quiver and the small amount of weight it adds to the bow help make it stable. The problem is that when ever the quiver is on I can't stop the string from slapping my arm gaurd. I' have gone through all my brace height adjustments and still no luck. The recommended setting is 7 1/2-8 1/2 and none of the settings in between are working.
Something is happening during the shot process to cause the string slap when the quiver is on but I don't know what it is. I don't know anyone near me who could know what to look for if they were watching me. I have opened up my stance and changed my grip to try and fix it. The grip change will cure it but I'm holding so far outside the handle that I pull left when I release. Any ideas to keep me from having a breakdown over this would be helpful.
Can ya film it with a digital camera than host it on photobucket?
Make sure you are rotating your elbow out and up at full draw. (on the bow arm)
I had the same problem but I can't for the life of me tell you how to correct it.
Could it be you're torquing the bow with your bowhand to compensate for the offset weight? If there's any way you could mount it closer to the centerline of the bow, that might help.
Bend your elbow slightly at full draw, this will rotate your forearm and wrist up and away. I also find bows that are not FF have a tendency to have string slap as the dacron or B-50 strings jump forward as the arroqw leaves the string. Shawn
If your right handed.. Open your left foot forward and "left" of center. This worked for me.

Of course, you could do like I did. Break your bow elbow when you were twelve and not be able to straighten it. No problem with wrist slap...of course the arthritis that is developing in it....well, that could be a problem at close to 50....LOL.
