Title: Need Help
Post by: NightHawk on September 21, 2008, 02:13:00 PM
Hey guys,

I'm having a problem lately and really need some help with it. Not to sound to disgusting but I'm sweating heavily for some reason. It'snot my blood sugara as they are running fairly good. My sweats started after I had a couple of epidural cortisone shots.
I literally wake up with a soggy pillow and bed sheets :-(

My problem is that deer season starts in 2 weeks and trying to get into my stand without sweat stinking up the area is gonna be hard. Does anyone have else have a problem with sweating to much and what do you do to minimize your odor? and before someone says go to the doc I have an appointment but I guess the extra wetness is a normal side effect from the cortisone.

It is. go in with almost nothing on & way early so you can take your time walking in.

I would dress as lightly as possible going in and carry extra clothes for when you get to your stand. Also,I have been using "Cover-Up" masking scents that are sold by Joe Skipp(who is a sponsor here)

When I hunt in the mountains,it's almost impossible NOT to sweat!!!!! I wear 1 100% wool sweater when climbing to the top, then I take it off and sit bare chested untill I cool down. Then I put on a fresh wool sweater, while I hang the other one on a tree limb to air out.If I get cold I put that one on too, over the fresh one. All of my clothes are sprayed with Cover-Up and they never smell "sweaty".

Had the same problem a few years ago. Relax, it will go away as the cortisone wears off.

... or you could just dress light and spend your time stillhunting.  Keep the wind in your face and if you start to sweat, you know you need to slow down anyway.

I like to put on sweats and get a good work out in the weeks before the season to get the sweat running will clean out your pores and condition you so you wont sweat as much during the hunt! sounds simple but it works for me MIKE

I would talk to the DOC for sure! If he saies OK use the Clorafill(sp) It works. i generall start 3-5 days before the hunt..

Happy hunting
