With the problems of available land and dealing with a lease...   :scared:   , so before I take the plunge, I was looking for some feedback

You can't go wrong with that combo.

I have one and it is suprisingly comfortable. You can adjust the angle of the seat and I guess that helps. The cusion that comes with it dosn't look like it would sit very good but I have no complaints with it. I would go on and get an extra climbing stick when you get it to save a trip back for it later. No noise when you stand or move, silent. I think it is a good stand.

I have never used the assault but I have 2 Alpha stands with sticks and they are great. Easy to setup, sticks pack nicely on the stand, and for me it is not to heavy of the setup to lug around.

Since I am vertically challenged I purchased a couple extra sticks to get me up above 15ft.

Also the easy hang hook and strap come in handy for additional stand locations.

As far as comfort goes it is pretty good. I have sat for over 6 hours a couple times with no problems.

Another stand worth looking at is Millennieum hang-on stand. Very comfortable for long sits. This is probably the best hang-on stand I have used for long sits.

Whump Sez; I use the Assault---it is the lightest stand I have ever owned  and one of the most comfortable for its size. The platform has more room than some of the weighter stands on the market, and is very quiet. If you are planning on long hikes to get to your hunting area you will be glad you spent the extra cash for a light weight stand like the assault. The platform is one piece cast aluminum and this in itself cuts out 99% of stand noise when moving or standing. The stand is adjustable for a tree that is leaning-----the only down side to this stand is you have to remove the cable system from the upright to adjust it for a leaning tree so do this on the ground as you will have a few parts to keep up with. The positives far out weigh the negatives for this stand.    :)

Thanks everyone...

I have heard lots of good things about em... (too bad that the industry sponsors too many of these so called "pro-hunters"..) I just want a quiet stand that I won't say to myself, "I'll just hunt here cuz I'm tired of carrying it!"

The price makes you leary as its a lot for so little! But it'll be a bargain compared to others..

I saw the sportsmansguide but they sold out too quick for to get one...

>>they have a cult-like following and they are expensive <<

I think treestands are like boots. What is comfortable for one may not be for another.

I practice out of a LW and hunt from my Chippewa.

I own well over 20 stands (and probably at least 10 different varieties).  Lone Wolf is the best I've seen.

I've got an Alpha.  Hands down my favorite hangon stand, the only regret I have is I didn't get the Assault instead.  There's a TON of room on the Alpha, and after using it in the field, I could have gone with the smaller, lighter Assault and still been fine.

I don't have any Lone Wolf stands , but from what I've seen and heard they are great. A couple years ago I was looking at the hang ons and decided to go with the Tree Saddle instead and have never regretted that decision. Take a look at an alternative

Just be sure to get the foot rest attachment on it.. It will make the stand more bearable...
