I am in the market for a T/D recurve with static tips (I think thats what its called basically I want a short recurve thats really fast and quiet)and was looking for some advice. I currently shoot a Jack Kempf Little Grizzly long bow and was wanting to get a really quick recurve to thats able to shoot my 625 grain arrows. Was looking for ideas and some of the bowyers that are reccomended or a used one for hunting. I am looking for a 56 inch or shorter bow thats about 50 to 55lbs @ 28 inch.
Thanks
Shawn
Shawn, look up Dryad bows in the sponsor list...their Orion Recurve fits your criteria and is an excellent value as well. Others will post their favorites I'm sure (Mr Leonard, where are you?) :bigsmyl:
Kevin
Take a look at RER's static tip recurves. They are also a sponsor here, and make one of the nicest bows you will find.
I have looked in the for sale section and I am not familar with all the lingo and abbreviations. Thankyou for the imput and I will keep looking and reading and researching. I went through the sponsor list and now i'm totalyy confused. I just thought I knew what I wanted.

steve
I second what Steve said Qwik Styk
RER bows make a sweet one, try their new XR T/D you will be impressed. The Kwyk Styk is very nice as well. Shawn
I have been wanting to call Jack and talk to him to see how backed up he is. The Kwyk styk is a fine bow and have shot my buddies a few times. Thanks for all yall's input and Keep em coming.
I just bought a 56" Dryad Orion. PM if you got any questions.
Ryan
Hey Shawn,
Top three on my list have all been mentioned, Dryad, RER, and Kemph. I've got a Dryad LB on order, will be stopping up to Merrill to check out some RER's, and need to track down a Kemph somewhere.. :D
You're going to have a rough one with this.
Shawn:
You can try out one of my Kwyk Styks next time you visit. Both have static tips. Check out the thread I posted on the new one that was just delivred.

I had a 56" KS and it was smooth all the way to my 29" draw and probably had room for more. I sold it to pay for my new one. I have shot quite a few bows and the only ones left are the two static tip Kwyk Styks from Jack.
You know troy about 6 months ago I looked into these and just really liked them and I told your hunting buddy about them and he said you and him were having some made by Jack. So instead of waiting 8 months I will be home in December to shoots the new twins and the old KS. So be ready for an offer because it will be the season.

Hera ,Did you make those two bows??
Hera, I like the second one - tell us more!
Hera, I wouldn't doubt it if those bows were your own creations. You do come up with some really nice stuff.
I think those are Saluki bows. I have seen them on his new website.
It's Saluki bow,one of my favor bow.
I'll copy one someday.
I have too much TD recurve( 8 TD recurve ),
would like to try something different.
I just found this thread on a search. What about the Sovereign ballistik? Anyone shoot one?
The Ballistiks are smoking fast.
The Black Mountain Sheepeater is static tip and Brent can make you a 54" two piece takedown.
I'll second the sheepeater, I was talking to Brent a few days ago about a td static recurve and he suggested the Dryad Orion, now I have one coming to me in January
I'm a Ballistik fan. Fast, quiet, and fast.
My main bow is a Sovereign Ballistik. Smoking Fast.
Does anyone know if the prices on the Sovereign site are current? I tried to email but it didn't go through.
kahunter,
I think you have to try and call him, he does not get to his email that often.
Most likely he is guiding this time of year, so it may take some doing to get a hold of him.
I have 3 Ballisticks and they are great. John is quite a craftsman. His email from the sight doesn't work and the prices are mostly current. Give him a calll, he will call back. Vermonster13 is correct in that john will be guiding mostly till thanksgiving. It takes a while to get a bow from him this time of year, but you won't be disappointed. From my experience, I would add about 2 months to what he says.
Thanks, I'll give him a call. It will probably take me at least a year to save up the money anyhow, so time isn't a big deal.
Like rbbhunt says, add about 2 months to the expected delivery time.
