Title: VA hunting season question
Post by: riot1013 on September 15, 2008, 09:03:00 PM
I am a little confused about the verbage on the VA Dept of G&F website.  Does anyone know if I can hunt on National forest land in Montgomery or Craig county Thanksgiving week?  It looks like the season is closed except to firearms on Nov 22 and 29 but I cannot understand why archery would be closed at that time.  Thanks.  Here is the link:

You should be able to use archery equipment during that time but you must adhere to the blaze orange requirements and make sure you have a national forest stamp in addition to required licenses.  The safest thing to do is to call the local game commision and find out from them. Make sure you get names of who you talked to.

Best of Luck to You.
