My strings are on the way! Thanks Bobby Graham.
This is my 1st time setting up a recurve. (or traditional bow period) My long bow, the prev owner had it set up already.
What string silencers would you recommend and why?
I dont really like cat wiskers. (looks more than anything)
I'm not big on cat wiskers either - although they work great. I just love my beaver fur silencers - quiet and very traditional looking.
Exactly, I like the more of the traditional look.
Bowhush and Hush Puppies.
I used 100% wool yarn... In an OD/Yellow.. I like it!!!
Catwhiskers here. . . only because they do not weigh down when wet and they do not catch all the stick-ems. I love the looks of fur silencers, but. . .sitting on stand picking off burrs is no fun to me! (Besides after so many pics the wool or fur is ruined-ugh!)
Oh yea- check out this current thread on the "how to" of silencers.

heres another good one on how to make your own yarn string silencers
Thanks guys! I had seen hushpuppies and bow hush but was unsure of quality.
The yarn how to seems good. Thanx
I just use raw wool, fresh off the farm, the stuff kinda stinks but it has a lot of oils in it to make it waterproof, it looks cool and that doesn't hurt anything. (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y275/420W/IM000192.jpg)

With out a doubt the Musk Ox is incredible.
Hush Puppies!
Less than $3 of Wool-Ease yarn will make you enough to last the rest of your life.
