Hey guys,
Just wanted to show some pics of our home made 3D targets from our archery range in Hawaii. A friend of ours spends countless hours to build and fix these target that are constructed with a metal frame; carpet and shink wrap for filler; shade cloth (for the skin) and spray paint for the color. So if your archery club's budget don't allow for store bought 3D targets, this may be another option.

That Giraffe looks a little short :biglaugh:
Those are pretty spectacular for homemade!
I suspect I lack the artistic talent to make me some of those!
Does the metal frame extend up into the body and does this ever cause broken arrows if it does?
The metal frame is primarily in the legs, keeps it real though, just like in hunting, it hurts when you put one though the leg. I think he gets a "cut" from the arrow sales at the local archery shop LOL! This is where "footed" carbons really shine!

Genius!
Outstanding!
ha great stuff iv tried making my own and failed miserably :clapper:
Well done.
Could your friend do a "build-a-long" (hint hint) for all us less artistic types? :)
Dad gum, that's sumthing like we'd do down south... Who says there's no rednecks in Hawaii (That's a term of endearment where I come from!)
I like the pain a leg shot causes... probably helps after you punch a couple and break an arrow to raise the stress level...just like hunting!!!
Bravo!!!
Where do you get your abundant supply of shrink wrap?
Im all for a build along too, those are cool :D
I'll see when my friend is available to do a build along. No promises though.
Slasher, yes we do have our share of rednecks here in Hawaii, including myself! One of our friend works at a shipping company so he saves the cut shink wrap the shipped supplies. Another option is to find someone who can get it at cost. If you buy the cases wholesale it's pretty cheap.

very cool!!!
Ryan...outstanding! Looks like a fun range to shoot!
Hey Rod,
You know you still have that open invitation to come to Hawaii and shoot at that "fun range"!

S2..Where is that located. I was stationed on Oahu for 6 years and went to a range that was out by where Barbers Point NAS used to be. Just curious..Very creative.... Aloha
Bayoubowman,
Yes I think that's the one, Kapolei Archery Range. They also have the "range shack" with the 10-60 yard bails at the end of the coral road.
Aloha!
