Can anyone tell me what kind of material you have had good luck with in silencing a takedown that would be used between the limbs and the riser? I'm guessing I would want something that is very thin?
Thanks
Brady
I use a thin layer of string wax with good results.
String wax works, as does moleskin.
string wax worked great...
I've heard of people using the foam type shelf liner that you can buy at alot of stores. I haven't tried at as the bows I've owned the bowyers didn't recommend putting anything between the riser and limb...Mike
I used moleskin and it works fine for me.
cellophane(?sp) tape works and was recommended to me by a bowyer from pennsylvania.
You shouldn't need anything. Are you sure something hasn't gone wrong with your clamping mechanism?
I use clear lamination paper. Works great.....
Thanks guys- Brandon-if everyone made their bows as quiet as your wildcat's, I wouldn't have to worry about it as my RO required 2 basic string whiskers to get it quiet.

I use wax paper.
I shoot 1 piece recurves so I don't know, but wouldn't powdered graphite work?
