Title: Lubbock Tx Hog Hunt Help
Post by: warder1268 on September 12, 2008, 05:23:00 PM
I was curious to know if anyone here might have some info on a place to hunt hogs in the Lubbock/Amarillo area of Texas.  I am living in Oregon now and my dad and brother have moved to New Mexico.  I have not seen them for a couple of years and I am trying to get down there in February or March to hunt with them.  I grew up in the Durango Colorado area which means that we did a bunch of elk hunting together, but I have always wanted to kill a hog.  My brother and I would hunt with trad bows (I just sent him a bamboo backed bamboo that I made) but my dad will probably want to hunt with a rifle or shotgun.

Thanks all for the suggestions and help.

Mike

I got a lease NE of Lubbock, we have Mule, whitetail, turkey's and all the hogs you can shoot (1700 taken off in the last 5 years) Looking for another bowhunter to join the lease for a total of 4 hunters. $2000/yr

Curtis at 7th Age has a place just north west of Odessa. Not to far from where your thinking.

Thanks all.  I will talk to Curtis and then talk to my dad.

I would love to lease ground, but don't think I would get there but once every other year.  I may just have to buy a plane and see what happens. I am not sure I can swing that on a teacher's salary but I will ask for a raise.  :)
