Hey, Gang,
I wondered if there might be anyone out there who has used a copperhead skin on a bow and has a piece left over. I'm not looking for a whole skin, but a piece that is about 3"x6" to use an decoration on a quiver.
Any chance someone has a piece to barter of sell?
I'd appreciate any help or ideas!
Daryl
Hey hawkeye, I'm looking for a set to skin my bow and just might have a deal. If it goes well, I'll have some scraps for ya. I'll definitely keep you in mind
Thanks, Michael. I appreciate it!
Hey Hawkeye no copperhead skins but I have 1 pastel ballpython skin and 1 normal skin from my hatchlings that didn't make it there about 2" by 8"
Im looking for scrap as well , two pieces about 36" long and about 2" wide.

Hey pintail-drake2004 looks like you found a northern watersnake latin name Nerodia Sipedon. Very cool
Yeah, Ted, I'd love to find a couple scraps THAT size, too!!!! But, poor people have poor ways, and I'm trying to do the head of a bowquiver since I can't afford to do the limbs...
bondo, maybe your PM was for Ted, but if it was for me, I don't see it yet.
Windtalker, I bet your skins would be pretty, but I don't think they'd be quite large enough, and I'm hoping for that copperhead "look." Thanks for your offer, though!
pintail, that's a little BEAUTY! As far as I know, they don't make it up to my part of the state (Peoria). Guess it's too cold up here over Winter.
Thanks, all!
Daryl
Hawkeye... check your pm one more time
GUYS I HAVE A BIG COPPERHEAD SKIN ABOUT 4 FT LONG AND 4 IN WIDE ILL SELL IT OR TRADE FOR A GOOD STAVE PM ME IF UR INTREASTED BROCK
Thanks everyone for your time and your help. I heard from two Gang members who may be able to share a chunk of 'head skin. It looks like I may get to give the project a try! If it works out, it will be fun to carry a bit of the commaraderie from this site along to the deer woods of Illinois. If it comes out "purty," I'll post a photo to show how it worked.
Thanks,
Daryl
if things fall through for you let me know as I have a small bit of copperhead skin and can send it to you if ya need it.
yeppers i see them watersakes all the time in the ponds i trap. very mild tempor lil guys. I hate snakes myself, but some are pretty to look at. we have be getting alot more cottonmouths and rattlers here lately-verses the copperheads we ususally find. sure wish the darn things would leave me alone...seems like they "seek" me out!
I got one if you want whole skin given to me by a client, about 18" long. let me if you need it.
Thanks Nighthawk. You too, ductape.
I have a piece coming by mail from a brand-new friend(!!!!), so I won't deprive you of your treasure. Hope you can make some nice from it. Thank you, though, for the kind offer. I really appreciate the generous hearts that have shown up. Gotta love the folks of traditional archery!!
