It can be either longbow, hybrid or recurve. Glass or wood or carbon. It matters not. Thanks Flint :)
I have some old Bear recurves that I hunt with, but my #1 hunting bow is a 62" Mikuta longbow.
I have 4 old bear recurve bows. The two I use most are an A mag handle with #2 limbs at 50# that is 58" -- and a B wood handle with #1 limbs at 48# that is 60". They both shoot the same arrows (50-55 POC) well and that is why I shoot these two more than my other bows.
Joe
48" and 52" on my hunting recurves
My 2 hunting bows for this year are a 60" osage static recurve and a 65" yew self bow. Both right at 50#@26". Pat

Two recurves 58" and 62"
Longbow 64"
The 58" recurve seems to see most of the action...although I enjoy using all of them...
David
Up to now a 60" recurve. This year I plan to go with my 64" longbow. Classic "D" shape-I love it! :)
Last couple years I used a 58" Red Wing Hunter recurve. This year will be a 64" Mahantango long bow. Hope to have my 70" Mahantango by Winter bow season.
70" 51#@24" Red Oak Pyramid selfbow
58" shrew longbow
54" to 62" but mostly with my 58" bow
58" AIM T/D Hunter recurve. I'd like four more inches, though.
This year, my main bow is a 56" Whisperstik Mojo recurve. Other bows on the rack include a 66" Appalachian longbow, 64" Appalachian flatbow, 64" Mississippi Lakes longbow, 62" Hill longbow and a 58" Appalachian recurve. So I have some alternatives, but that Whisperstik is an amazing bow. Quiet, fast, and accurate.
My all time favorite length is 56".I have 52",54",56",58" and 60".
Mostly a 68" longbow, but will possibly do a little hunting with 62" later in the season.
hunt with a 62 inch longbow and a 52 inch curve
56" shrew
62" Dale Dye recurve, 62" Crow Creek Black Feather longbow and 62" El Puma longbow. All are great shooting bows, the Dye recurve will be my number one bow.

56" Shrew LB, 62" ChekMate Hunter II Recurve, 68" ChekMate Crusader Longbow.
This year the 56" is to designated bow.
62" recurve, 64" + longbows
I usually prefer longbows in the 66-60" range. Any longer and I run into maneuverability issues. Any shorter and I run into smoothness and accuracy issues. Happy hunting, Matt
60" Hornes Brushbow and 62" PLX
64" and 60" Fox longbows. Used the long one the last 2 years, but am really leaning toward the 60" incher for hunting.
60" Bear T/D
This year - a brand new 66" HH Halfbreed.
Last year (and the previous 15-20) - a used 62" DH Hunter.
I'm currently going through a short longbow phase. 58"-62"
i prefer the stability of my 64" bear longbow
56-58" either Griffin, Shawnee, or Pronghorn longbow...Doc
I'll be using a new 56" Black Swan RC model, 56 Black Swan Hybrid LB, and a few others.
Hi All,
For years I only hunted with my Bear Kodiak Magnum at 52 inches. Due to a damaged limb, I've retired the old boy, and now shoot a 62" Tomahawk.
68" longbow. Do have a 66" that may get out this fall.

60" or 62" longbow and recurve. Mike
64-inch ACS hybrid and Robertson longbows, 66-inch Hills and a 60 inch GN Critter gitter for the blind.
Usually 62" in a regular D/R longbow or 58" in a recurve or hybrid. My 58" Selway Lil Mag (Centaur) is a GREAT hunting bow. :help:
I shoot a sweet pulling 56" Chek-mate right now, but I might try a Cascade in 52" later when I get my form back after going to compounds in 73.It all depends on your draw length and if the bow stacks befor you reach your anchor (feels like you hit a wall as you are drawing) but I like the shortest bow that is smooth to my little 28" draw length. I guess it's all what a guy likes. Ain't archery fun?
62 inch Dwyer Dauntless longbow
62 inch Yellowstone longbow
64 JD Berry longbow
60" Griffin and 56" "Redline" Super Shrew for me this year. Gene
I should of said I use the 56" Shrew as my "Blind Bow" and the 60# 60" Griffin when not in the blind.
Gene
62" Horne Longbow, 60" Morrison Cheyenne, .
Soon to be a 62" Morrison Shawnee also.
58" Morrison Dakota, 58" Centaur Double Carbon, and a 56" Centaur Double Carbon that should be here in a few days......
68" Hills and 68" Liberty English. All 50# to 55# at my 26.5" draw...i only hunt by stalking and whilst many find the longer bow awkward but i love the accuracy, stability, feel and look of the longer bow. Ben
60" bows for over thirty years. All recurves. Grant
64" for now, 60" in the future
F-Manny
62" on recurves to 70" longbows.Mostly with 68 and 70" longbows unless I need to hunt from a popup blind.I have a 33" bow for that. :)
I like a 60" bow. I tend to get good performance and a comphy draw out to 28.5-29". I have a Blacktail Snakebit that is 64" and is as smooth as butter...

64" silvertip
Billy
Primarily with my 60" Pittsley Predator, and possibly with my (in the mail) 64" Kota Prairie Nomad.
I really like 60" bows.
Bill
My 58" Widow PTFX. A 56" Morrison will also see some woods time. Got a Shrew, 58" that will also get out some. But I always end up shooting my Widow most - I love that bow.
66 inch Dwyer longbow. Wish me luck this Saturday!!!!!
62" r/d longbows or 62-64" recurves (old Bears). With my 30" draw I'm not comfortable shooting bows under 62" for any length of time... can't stand the finger pinch.
This year's hunting bow is a 62" 1959 Bear Grizzly :)
60-64". Mostly 60" though.
Mike
