Just wanted to thank all the GM shooters out there that helped me quiet down my bow.
20$ and an hour well spent, it's dead silent!
Don't know if anyone mentioned it, but some white tape for gaslines on the takedown bolts helped emensely!
Thanks again, I love this place.
do you mean teflon tape? what else did you do to make your bow less noisy?
wihill aren't you a cleaver fellow being in two spots at once. I won't tell if you don't.
Hey, I have a Darado on order have now for a while ahem. Must be a Hoyt thing. You will have to let me know what all you did to your GM. I would love to pimp your knowledge.
Do tell!!!! I've got one that could use a little help!
:campfire: :coffee:
Here's what I did - cost around $20.
Items:
A set of bowjax limb dampers (14.00)
A set of cat whiskers (1.50)
A pack of stick on felt/moleskin (5.00)
Some teflon tape (couldn't remember the name, thanks!) Free out of my garage...
;)
1) Felt lined the limb pockets
2) Felt lined the limb tips
3) Applied the teflon tape to the limb bolts
4) Added the cat whiskers (these made the biggest difference, to me)
5) Applied the Bowjax on the inside limbs, about 1.5" away from the riser (don't really know if this did anything, but oh well..) They are parallel to the whiskers on the string.
Unnecesssary, but I did it to offset the weight from my sight.
6) moved over my 12"/10oz Bernies Custom stablizer with 4x 350gr weights at the tip. Again, not really necessary, if anything I think I might take it off and go to a single 15oz weight from one of my V-Bar's on my target bow. It's alot smaller, about the same weight, and solid. You can also pick them up for around $5-10 depending on what your shop stocks.
The main reason I put one on was to "plumb" the bow, with the extra weight at the bottom, the bow now balances perfectly in my hand, and is very easy to point now at rest and at full draw.
Be warned, I'm a tinkerer, and I love to adjust things to the way I want them, so what I may do might be a bit much for those that want a more traditional bow. Frassettor was shooting with me today and even he did a double take from the first shot - the loudest thing is the arrow flying away.
Bill - I know a store that has a camo one instock ready to ship today... ;)

Thank you for the info. I would take you up on the bow you know but of course I ordered the black and maple and they have half down. I will just patiently wait.
