Post by: longbow from LW on September 04, 2008, 06:33:00 PM
Just curious if anyone remembers the grain wt. of these?  This is for the 3 blade glue on heads.  I remember a friend of mine was using them and had little difficulty with sharpening them nor with flight.  thanks and keepem sharp

I have two different size bodkins that I just weighed on my digital grain scale.  The smaller one (7/8 inches between the blades at the back) is 102 grains, the larger one ( 1 1/8 inches between the blades at the back) is 132 grains.  They have each been sharpened.  Each has a 11/32 ferrule.  Your friend is right.  They sharpen easily and fly good.

Thanks fella's.  The ones I was looking at were on **** for 10 bucks.  The fella selling them said they wieghed 125-130 gr. on his scale.  I figured for 10 bucks I couldn't go wrong for nos broadheads.  My buddy used them with great success back in the 80's.  These are Whiffen Co. made heads and gold colored.  I do know they took a scary sharp edge so I guess I'll be trying them out.  Keepem sharp
