Anyone from K.C. putting in for one of the three hunts?
I sent mine in today, and chose Tiffany Springs Park up near the airport. They upped the date on this hunt to the 15th of Nov. First day of gun season, but who cares. I'd rather bowhunt anyway.
I just pray I get drawn again.
Who's putt'n in?
Good luck in the drawing Brian! Since I moved across the state line a few years ago I'm no longer eligible.
Bill
Well if you were interested in getting a non-resident tag and have bowhunter ed, they give preference to K.C. area hunters.
I did a quick search on the MDOC site but found nothing about this, where can I put in?
In spite of my tendency to whack does for the MODOC and my proximity to KC, I've never been drawn for any of these hunts. I didn't put in this year.
I hope you are though. Go get 'em!
I did finally find the right place for the application, sadly they require a bowhunters education. It also seems the only two classes they offer for this are over quite some time ago, I didn't even know we had BHE certs. I would love to hunt Hodge Park though.
I haven't had the bowhunter ed so I guess the urban hunts are out for me, but I did apply for the Dec. hunt at Longview Lake. The odds were a little better for the December hunt, but I guess I'll find out on the 11th.
I got to hunt Longview a few years ago, I think they have a bigger squirrel problem than a deer problem. But there are a LOT of deer.
If anyone is interested, Kansas is offering a bowhunter ed class on September 14 at Prairie Center in Olathe. You take an on-line course first and then complete the field day on Sept 14. It should be good for all states requiring bowhunter ed.
Bill
yeah any state Bow Ed will work. SlowBow, on this hunt you can kill bucks but if you only kill a buck and no does you will not be drawn again. Statewide Regulations Apply. However you cannot shoot turkeys.
Well I'm happy to announce i've been drawn again for Tiffany Springs. Hopefully third times the charm. Alot of big bucks in there.
Anyone else get drawn?
Congrats Brian. As you told Tom and Chris, I'm not in the mood for any excuses. :D Good Luck!
I got lucky this year myself. I was drawn for the archery hunt at Marais Des Cygnes National Wildlife Refuge near Pleasanton, KS. I'm not real familar with the area but I'm looking forward to checking it out. Hunting new places is always exciting.
Bill
Congrats on getting drawn Brian and Bill.
Will be expecting pics along with your success stories.

Congratulations go get'em boys! Good luck to both of you guys!
Do me a favor, when you're at the Boone and Crockett hall of fame banquet excepting your awards and giving your acceptance speeches, be sure to mention the KCTN. Somewhere mixed in with thanking your mother, your high school drama teacher and putting in plugs for your new sponsors.
I know you guys are going to be busy with your new fame but I hope you'll still find time to shoot with me.
:bigsmyl:
We'll see. Every time I scout it, I see monsters. In the stand is a different story. I may go up there this sunday morning and check out the area I loaned my friend last year. He had a non-typical and a nice 8 and missed them both.
Congrats on the draw Bill. Tom I may even sign your bow. :knothead:
Good luck, stay safe and shoot straight!
Best of luck to ya
Brian failed to get drawn for Blue Gray again this year. Love to hunt these urban deer. Headed out this morning in a little bit at grandview. Goodluck on your hunt.
Good luck to ya!!!
Good luck waiting for the stories!
