I know we have been thru this many times so hopefully one more time won't hurt.
I want to fletch some wooden arrows using fletching wraps. But first I want to stain the un-wrapped section of the arrow. Do I stain the arrow and then dip the entire arrow into some sort of clear coat before putting the arrowraps on the arrow?
Thanks
Jon
Yes, stain the arrow, let it dry completely and than dip into a mixture of 30% paint thinner and 70% minwax ploy. If ya do not have dip tubes and such just use a lint free cloth and wipe on 3 or 4 coats of the mixture, letting it dry between coats. If the grain raises a bit use some 0000 steel wool and rub the arrow down and wipe it off and than coat again with the ploy mixture. Shawn
