I know what weekend it is...but
Is there anywhere to shoot or anybody interested in a bull session this weekend ??
Run over to Pine Log and chase a few squirrels or track a few piggy's.
I will be heading out Sun. early am, then get out late morning. Probably just going to walk up Stamp Creek to the first bridge.
Nice walk, stop and make a cup of tea.
How far is that and can I get a semi(tractor only) close to it?
I'd be interested, but I have just to much to do, I have a gator tag that I am trying to get geared up for and I have not done ANYTHING to get ready for deer season and its all DAYS AWAY!
Billy,
If you just wanna shoot the breeze, hang out, look at some trophy heads and shoot your bow at some targets I have time Sunday or Monday.
I am in Woodstock....about 20 miles or so from Cartersville.
Yes, you can get a semi there. Take Tenn. street, aka 411 towards White. Right before you enter White, you will hit Stamp Creek on your right.
Take a right, drive about 5 miles down the road, on the left right before you cross the trout stream, is the check in station. Drive across Stamp Creek bridge, then take a left and park you monster truck in the parking area. It has three entry ways, and is made to accomodate monster trucks with the big horse trailers.
Start walking. Make sure ya have a WMA stamp.
Early in the morning, walking up the creek, on the far right side, you may run into some pigs and a mess of squirrels. About a mile back, you will see signs, don't hunt in that area, go to the creek and walk the 100 yds then it's WMA property again. It's very well posted.
Did not make the morning, going to try and go back late afternoon.
Frank, Thank You ! You don't know how precise directions are appreciated.
I think Ray has the better idea for me this go around, though. I spend a lot of time parked and or passing through Cartersville. Maybe we can get something together another weekend.
Ray, 20 miles is right in the range I can get by with driving. How about Monday?
Thats fine. Monday is good. Drive across on i-20 from Cartersville to Canton. follow 20 to Hwy 575..there is a Home Depot there where you can park and we can meet up...you cannot get a rig into the streets near my home without a lot of difficulty.
What time?
I'm easy, you say when. I am not going anywhere until 30 mins after sunrise, Tuesday.
Early or late, whatever fits your day.
how about 830am...we'll have some breakfast, then head over to the hacienda? Email me your cell...you have mine 678-300-2883 just in case we get turned around? rayhammond01@yahoo.com
Sounds like y'all are going to be having a great time.
Now this is what the site is all about.
hey, Chris.
Your dad should have a package on Wednesday or so.
Let me know what he says.
Chris, I agree.
I had the answers here and a pm going.
When I get home..someone remind me; I need to put my camera in the truck !!
Driving a truck was fairly bland for the first 12 years. Then I got my Red Wing, found Tradgang, and have been meeting folks all over the country ! I've been able to shoot with some of them in/from places like:
Arkansas,Illinois, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Indiana
I plan to return and add more to the list...
Thank You All for being TGers !
:wavey:

I met Ray at @8:30 this morning. We had some breakfast then went off to the hacienda.
Met the family and headed off to Ray's work er I mean play area.
I learned some about knife making. We handled and studied some 'exotic' looking woods and talked over handle making - Shot our bows - fletched some arras, watched 300.
oh AND .....I looked at some trophy heads complete with stories and pics to go along..
I had a great day ! Thanks for everything, Ray.
you are definitely welcome, Billy. It did me good to get away from all the estrogen floating around the house this weekend with two daughters, two granddaughters, a wife!!!
