Well Gang, Texas Task Force 2, Urban Search and Rescue will depart Dallas tomorrow at 0400 headed south towards Houston. We will meet up with TXTF1 and 9 other FEMA USAR Teams from around the Country in preperations to start SAR Missions as soon as Gustav makes land fall. Excited about putting all my training to use, but concerned for all those in his path. I hope all our members in these areas will be safe, listen to any evacuation orders and leave no matter how difficult of a decision that may be. I hope not to have to meet anyone from this board face to face over the next week or so. bless all here and I will give you the low down upon my return.
Tu Compades, Suty
Stay safe
Stay safe! Hopefully everyone evacuates but I know that's asking too much. Unfortunately some always stay behind causing others to risk their lives to help them when they should have left in the first place.
Prayers to all of those who are deploying to the possible disater areas.
we just got notified that we are deploying as well. FLTF 5 is staging in the Pensacola to Mobile area, then proceed as far west as possible. Stay safe everyone and we get to go hunting when we get back from the two week deplyment.
Shawn
Luck Suty, be careful. Being a firefighter, emergency service is tough. You want to do your job, but to do your job someone is having the worst day of their lives. It is a job you gotta love though, no doubt. Take care.

stay safe and be careful, stay away from NOPD, they are the bad guys in uniform. I was there last time and know from experiance.
Hats Off and Prayers for All.
My sister came thru Katrina, in part; due to her EMT training.
She managed to help a few others along the way.
First responders are equally uniformed as the military, in my opinion. Thank You!!
Prayers to you all.. Be safe
Just got my new generator fixed up today. My old one (pre-Katrina) is not what she used to be. I went through Katrina and it was if a bomb went off. I still find it hard to believe we made it. It took alot of effort, blood, sweat and everyone working as hard as possible. Many, like you Suty, showed up and made the difference. Lives were spared because of strangers and we in the deep south still appreciate the efforts. So ... here we go again. This time could be much worse. God bless everyone in the path, especially those that put themselves in harms way to help others. I will be in my storm shelter riding it out. Food, water and gas for two weeks. Didn't have water or electricity for three weeks after Katrina. Lord help us. Stay safe Suty and thanks for what you do.
Suty, Shawn stay safe...
Danny, good luck & maybe it will go further west....
Safety to all involved and may God Bless!!
Guys be safe out there. My FD is on stand by. We came thru Ivan and Katrina, fairly well. My guys have the training and the want to, so they're waiting, like everyone else. I'm Asst. Ch. and all the boys call me PaPa! Gotta love them boys!
We'll see ya'll on the other side!
Good luck to all you guys.. Stay safe!
Starting to send some of my guys south to help get the power back on!!! Be safe and good luck to all.
Please send everyone to help get our power back on. We can handle the wind and damage, its the living in 90 to 100 degree weather with the chance of mold build up that is the worst part of it.
Thanks for everyone's help in coming down here. We do appreciate it.
My oldest son is a Lineman and they leave tommorow morning. My youngest son is a helicotor pilot flying Blackhawks and arrived at Alexadria La. today. Both were there for Karina and now both there for Gustav. Very proud of both of them.
well I got the windows boarded up, plenty of ice, food, water, and gas for the generator. If the roof stay's on we might make it all right. If you can say a prayer for us an the rest of the people in south Louisiana. thanks
I have evacuated with my family and am now in huntsville, I live about an hour north of new orleans
All of us in the hurricane belt really, really appreciate the emergency response personnel, utility workers, and others who help out in these situations.
Thank you!
I will be praying for everyone, GOD BLESS all of you and be safe. Flint
GODS SPEED Brother!!!
I'm sitting here with my family all at my house just South of Baton Rouge. It just started raining. Thanks in advance to all who are heading this way to assist with what may come.
I pray you will all return safely and that the majority of the people in it's path have the common sense to evacuate.
