Title: colorado transplant
Post by: pale bear on August 29, 2008, 01:39:00 PM
I have recently moved to Tabernash, CO. I have some projects that I had started with my dad "Coach" when I was in Kansas. Is there anyone in the area that has a shop and advice so that I can get some more work done, plus it would be nice to meet some people in the area that share a passion for archery.

Also, I work with a guy that says the sides of his recurve are bare. I recomended Tru-Oil, was I right or wrong in this.

True oil will work fine.  A spray finish like Deft or Helmsman Spar urathane also works well.

I am in NW Colo, I know there is a few up that way. There is an excellent bowyer in Gandby. PM me if you want any info on him. If interested you may consider joining the Colorado Traditional Archers Society. We have a great shoot up on the flat tops every year in the last part of June. Also the Banquet every February. Welcome to Colorado. Great place to be if you can stay away from the crowds.
