Title: Quieting down my Gamemaster
Post by: wihill on August 28, 2008, 11:25:00 PM
I need some help quieting down my Gamemaster 1.

Right now it has some beatup felt under the limb tips, which I will be replacing - and that's about it.

I'll be putting a set of beaverballs or the widow silencers on the string shortly, but it's still ridiculously loud to me.  I've seen most GM's with a Limbsaver on the limbs near the limb pockets, I don't know if that'll help, but right now anything's an improvement.

A friend on another board suggested a set of DAS Limb pads - they made a huge difference for him, but I can't find any mention of them at 3Rivers or the DAS website.

At 43#, my arrows weigh around 390gr with the tips, obviously a heavier arrow would help a little, but I like the flat trajectory I've got.

Help?!

Chris

DAS limb pads, limbsavers (work great by the way!), string leeches, simbs s-coil stabilizer, and you'll be good to go.

What are these DAS limb pads?  Felt, foam, rubber?

Am I correct in thinking they isolate the limbs from the riser?

Anyone have a picture of them?

Also - Stick with the Sims stuff or does the Bowjax stuff work just as well?  I get lost in all this technology...        :D

I seen were you can use a rubber tube for a bike(trim to fit) between the limbs and riser also the bowjax on my string work real good! The biggest thing is the brace ht. check to see if it is about 7-8 in. that was my main trouble.

I made limb pads from thin leather,used a dacron string,yarn balls,super srting leech,8" brace,a small stabilizer,@48# with a 525gr. cedar arrow it's now pretty quite.

The string I made was a shade over 57", it strechted a bit. then just twisted to get my 8" brace ht.
