I use the old rubber or plastic ones on the bottom limb tip on some of my bows but have never tried the leather. If it fits and doesn't hamper the string I wouldn't think it would cause any noise.

I keep one on most of my bows all the time. Easy to make and the only time they get taken off is when they get wet.

The leather ones usually do make the bow loader. Get a rubber one for the lower tip. If you know anyone with a child who no longer takes a bottle, you can cut the nipple off the bottle and use that. Cheap and effective.

The Leather ones will hold dampness.
