I seem to be having a slipping problem with my recurve grip. It gets slick when my hand starts to sweat so I stop shooting in fear of the bow coming out of my hand and it just dont feel good.
Can I order a piece of leather to fix this? I can see this being a real problem in wet weather. If you could point me in the right direction id appricate it. Thanks.
A Golf glove will work good on your bow hand.
IMO its better to have a loose grip. That way the bow can settle in and do what it wants to do after release.

3Rivers has a bunch of leather grips. They form to fit your shape of grip ,I have been using the BOW SADDLE for years it is a thin piece of glove leather that keeps you from slipping helps keep your hand warm and is always there if you forget your wet gloves that are drying at home .
I use the "sure grip" from 3 Rivers on all my bows now.. Its a rubber sleeve that slides over one of your limbs and up onto the grip.. I have found that a bit of baby oil works well in the sliding process.. Some folks use a piece of innertube from a bicycle... They never slip no matter on sweaty your bow hand gets and you will have a much more consistent grip... I love the things... Jim

I use the tennis racket tape or bat tape on all my bows. I tsure takes the slip out of the bow, also makes the bow feel better on cold days ...
got the bat tape from walmart a roll was on closeout for less than 2 bucks and will do several bows..
There are several approaches to this problem.
The "bow saddle" is a neat item that works well and looks cool as well. I'm not a big fan of leather grips on recurves but I have used it on some that were just too slick.
It's thin enough that it doesn't change the feel of the grip a whole lot.
A small pad of 100 grit sandpaper rubbed on the grip area of the bow will help with the slipping. Barely noticable to onlookers or in pictures, but improves the "grip" considerably.
Paste wax! A good coat of hard shell paste wax (you've got that around the shop for protecting arrows...right?) Coat the grip area and buff or not. It works great either way.
This is only temporary and will need to be reapplied from time to time.
Ditto on the shur-grip/inner tube...

I"m cheap I buy rolls of non slip material for drinking glasses,cut to 1" strips and wrap all my bows with.I use a candle and small paddle tool I made from hanger wire to fuse together.You can build up area to custom fit. Gordon
