Hi yall, im just getting into this trad archery stuff(my 2nd year) and i was wanting to make a back quiver to go along with my bow. I am a big trapper in my area, so acquiring a pelts is not problem. I am just not sure which one to do. I would really like an otter, but cant keep them in IL. This is where i was hopeing some of yall could post some pix of your critter quivers to help me decide.
appreciate the help

this is a beaver quiver Barb Dumas had made me.
Pintail,
Can you have an otter if it is legally harvested in another state and taged with the proper CITES tag? If you can let me know and I can get you an otter here in Maine this fall and ship you the pelt. Let me know if this is something you would be interested in.
woodslinger, that is very kind of you and i do appreciate the offer. But im am wanting to have a set up i made from start to finish. including trapping the animal. Yes we can have the otter w/ the cites tag in IL. it pains me ever time i catch one and have to turn it into the DNR, same with bobcats. I trap a few of the kittys ever year and have to let them go or turn them in.
adkmountainken that quiver is pretty slick. i like that. my bro and i get calls every year to do beaver work. i really like that wrist guard too. I skinned out a beaver tail a few times, and told myself i would never do it again. I think i may have to try it again.
Yep, nothing worse than having to let a nice bob kitty go. Sure does wake you up first thing in the morning though!
Too bad you guys don't have any fishers as I bet that would make a nice quiver.
My buddy made a back quiver out of a red fox pelt, it looks really good but I dont have any pics.

very nice yall
what kinda leather do yall use make the tube that goes in side?
Jerry- a cylinder of leather,(blacksmiths hide.) 2 black marbles in his eye sockets. My sweetheart bought the hide at the Tannerhill shoot, wanted me to make her a back quiver. Biff
