For you bowyers out there, how hard would it be to make one of your take down limbs but make the bottom end that attaches to the riser like the one used on the Fred Bear Take Down bows? I would think that it would just be a matter of shaping it differently, or am a just totally unaware of what is involved in making a take down limb?

I believe Kevin at Rivers Edge Recurves makes them. And I think Dave Windauer at Silvertip has also made them. Perhaps there are others as well. They require quite a bit of work and aren't cheap. They come up for sale quite frequently on the auction site.

It's not just putting a different wedge in the form. The pad angles are completely different. RER does make a copy of the #2 limbs (and by all accounts they are much better than the originals). I'm not sure what Dave Windauer does, but from what I've seen all his work is top notch.
I think I've figured out a heavily r/d longbow limb for the FB TD (equivalent to a #3 and what would be a #4), but won't have time to glue one up until after I get caught up with other projects. The lines sure are sweet looking though...
