Do you guys save all your issues?
To tell you the truth with F&S, Deer and Deer Hunting, TBM, American Hunter etc. I find that I've grown bored and/or too busy with hunting stories but still live to hunt. I have several TBM's I haven't read more than an article. Anyone like me on this?  :)

I have stopped buying most mags, curveman, but I still get and read TBM.  It took me a month to read the last issue of one of the ones you mentioned.  Same old stuff.

Curveman, I'm that way with several other hunting magazines. But I save all my issues of TBM. I do the same thing with the Bugle, the magazine of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. In my opinion Bugle and TBM are the two best hunting magazines available. I frequently find myself referring to back issues for a particular article.

I'm kind of with you on that Curveman.  I've subscribed to TBM for over 8 years and it seems like the same stuff is starting to resurface over and over.

Oh well, I still enjoy reading it but I don't devour it like I used to.

Dang!  How do the fellas the next state(s) over get theirs before me, living here where they publish TBM?  Maybe tomorrow!  (Greedily rubbing hands!).

I do save all my TBMs, but other magazines get recycled after (maybe) cutting out and article or two...

TBM is the only mag I subscribe to.  I also a WA-OR hunting mag.

I think if TJ and Don did some hunting in PA, VA, NY, MD, NC, etc. they would gain a better understanding of writing to include folks east of the Mississippi.  Still like the magazine and wish I lived in Montana like Don.

Seeking....have you invited them?

Mine didn't come in the mail today yet.... still waiting.  It's always fun to see who gets it first.

Seeking, I have met with TJ, Don, and the Davids a couple times.  Great fellas.  The problem is that while the eastern side of the US has more trad hunters, giving up their elk, mulie, etc. time to come hunt whitetails is a hard thing to do.  The other half of the equation is that oftentimes the whitetail stories are pretty similar.  That's not a knock, by the way.... it is a ton of fun to get out and sit on a stand for whitetails....

But I'd do what Hogtmaer suggested, invite them out there and show them what they are missing OR, write your own stories.  They love to get new writers in the magazine and it just might make you enough money to purchase a new custom bow, or some new stands, etc...

I've cleaned this thread up,so please refrain from talking about the catalog that comes with this issue....it will not be allowed! Believe me when I tell you, Trad gang has good reason for this.....

Please go ahead and talk about TBM all you want though. They support traditional archery's "heart and soul"......I think it's a great magazine!!

I get TBM for the great articles by Fred Asbell, David Petersen, Dave Sigurslid, as well as the various ad sections. The hunting stories are, well..., what they are always the same: a little bit like reading a police report   :D
Great mag though. I will always subscribe

I get TBM but quite honestly, I haven't read the last 5 or 6 issues. The only mag I read cover to cover is PBS Magazine. Lots of stories by guys  who are not professional writers. Just bowhunters who LIVE for bowhunting. You can feel it in the articles.

I can not imagine life without TBM. Over the years I have had an article every year published and I am not a professional writer. I love the variety and especially advertisers. it's the go to for anyone serious about Traditional Bowhunting

TBM is the pure stoke of trad bowhunting, and I look forward to reading it from cover-to-cover every month.  IMHO, the only other trad archery/bowhunting mag that rivals TBM is IAM, RIP.

I'm with Biggie

I aint got time to read TBM myself....too much reading and working here.  I kinda get my daily fix pretty easy right here.

I wish I had time cause I'm sure I'm missing out.

Big-1 said:

"Lots of stories by guys who are not professional writers."

So, you will read a story I wrote for PBS but not one I wrote for TBM?  Our favorite bowhunter was "glorified" (LOL) in the last TBM article.

Best magazine out there bar none as well as the best editors and writers on the planet! I have every single issue and think they cover all the bases.

Well, there are actually 2 great articles in the current issue. I happen to mostly agree with both, and let me say that they will certainly stir the pot. One is on the over-use/abuse of quads and the effect on elk (Colorado's own research agrees with this article), and the second is on high fence hunting. Both are taking a stand in my mind in the right direction, but there will be many pissed off individuals, that's for sure!!! enjoy

Allright ...take it easy studs :-)

My favorite magazine is PBS...I too have been losing interest in reading TBM...I'm not sure exactly why but it may have something to do with what biggie mentioned.

I just get mine the Traditional way...I hunt it down at the news stand 8*)

Have had the pleasure to meet a few contributors. Makes it more interesting.

Biggie...We tried to bannish him back. Didn't work. I figgure someones feedin him off the porch at night.

Steve...Sterling-n-Krista send their reguards. They got the ol Ford wired back together, lift on the square stern, new 9.9 kicker and headed for the Yukon-Charlie. Should be a story in the makin.

The Holbrooks are two of my most favorite people in the bowhunting world. I'll buy any magazine that they have a story in  :-)

Scotty, we get him back for a week or two a year...that's enough thank-you.

Got mine a couple days ago.  I agree with Biggie but do read some of the TBM articles.  Quite a few of them are by PBS members as well.  Hopefully they'll send some articles to PBS, too as I enjoy their talents.  Thanks to Biggie and Steve for doing that already!  It would be way cool to read some Joebuck and Shoeman adventures in PBS one of these days (yes, that's a hint...) You too, Terry!  And Mike!
