I put my Dye recurve in Priority Mail to Rich Lopez (droptine59) today to have him do some work on it. He's going to drop the weight for me, shooting for 5# reduction to 49#@28", convert the limb tips to FF compatible, and check the tiller to see if it is close enough for 3 fingers under.
It will take 8 to 12 weeks, so I may or may not get it back in time for my trip to IL in late October/early November. It doesn't matter, I'll have it for the remaining part of deer season here in SC after I return from IL, which is the only part I hunt anyway, if it is cool enough!

Wow- something that I have always been considering doing. I have a 1 pc that I would shoot better if it were just a little lighter. maybe I'll let you be the guinea pig, and see how it turns out. Make sure you show some befor and after images once you have received it back!
I've heard nothing but good things about the job Rich does. I've talked with him over the phone and he's extremely helpful with advise on refinishing. Betcha it turns out great. :campfire: :archer:
he put a bow in the mail to me Monday morning. A 1959 left handed 1959 Kodiak 48 LBS at 28. going to hunt with it next year to celebrate my 50 th. B-day he was great to deal with.

I shipped off a Windstorm recurve that I bought back from my buddy Kevin Halverson. It was too much weight when I sold it and I am having it reduced and a new finish put on. Can't wait. It was a special bow before and will be again!
Here's the only before images I have.
