Title: Climbing Stands and Backquivers
Post by: Bob Palmer on August 18, 2008, 08:01:00 AM
Going to try hunting this season without a bow quiver. I have a Cat Quiver I and a GFA style quiver....how in the world do you carry either of these with a climbing treestand? I have a Summit stand and can't figure out a quiet, secure way to carry both! Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

assuming you don't try to spot and stalk while carrying your stand, a light weight elastic bungie cord to secure your GFA or Cat should do the trick.....

Wally world has small bunges that use plastic balls on one end.  They work real well for securing small stuff.  The Cat 1 (straps taken off) fits into my Lone Wolf setup very neatly.

I sometimes strap items to the other side, like rattling antlers.   If your gonna pack in a lot, the Lone Wolf is a good platform for both packing and hunting.   It will definitely expand the # and type of trees you'll be able to hunt from.

I got so tired of my Mini catquiver and my treestand clanging around and not being very accessible that I went to a bow quiver.

I found it to be more quiet, get snagged less, and keep my arrows available in the event that I came across something on the way to where I wanted to put my climber.

That was just my experience though.  I am sure there are more on here that get along just fine.

Here is how I carry mine. I have my mini cat quiver attached to my pack and my stand attached to my pack.
