Title: weight tubes - uncut length question
Post by: BobW on August 17, 2008, 09:22:00 PM
Can anyone please tell me how long the "out of the box" length of these are?  My shafts are "unique" as length goes (need something like 32.75", less the length of the nock insert....
so 32.25").  Anyone got a measurement on an uncut one?  Also, have any of you used "pieces" rather than a whole one to fill the shaft if you didn't have one long enough?

Thanks

BobW

I can measure one tomorrow, but I think the ones I sell are at least 33", maybe longer.

The ones I bought from a Tradgang sponser are 31 1/2" long. I cut mine in half and Gorilla Glue them in behind the insert.  I have heard of people filling half the arrow with one weight tube and the other with another so I am pretty sure that it would work to cut pieces to fill in to get the length you need. If you are not glueing them, it helps to crimp them in a few places so they fit in tighter to prevent rattles.

I measured my tubes, they are 31.5". When combined with the 1" insert and the nock, it will allow use in about 33" shaft.
