Moose season started the 10th here for archery, we have to shoot only spike fork or 50inch three brow tine moose. I found a little fork horn in the timber, which also includes chest high grass and brush plus the ground is covered with little sticks. So I'm trying to sneak up on him even kicked off my boots so I'm in socks. Won't let me get closer than 40yds, when I was close enough all I could see of him over the grass was the top of his back. Then last night I catch a in between moose out in a overgrown field and walk up to within 25yds. Plus a cross fox comes and hangs out with me and eats part of my candy bar, it was quite bizarre. I think I might have to head up into the mountains to find some better sneaking terrain, god I hate packin moose meat though. I know you can't eat an "experience", but your memories of that day will never empty like your freezer will.
Just eating a candy bar with a wild fox would be worth the price of admission. What a great day!
Good luck with the rest of your moose hunt and thanks for sharing.
