I just got my Jack Howard Gamemaster Jet back from Don Ward today and it looks better than new! I got this bow from Jack in 1996 and promptly painted the limbs camouflage... using permanent paint. It has got to be the quietest, smoothest, and fastest bow I ever shot! After Jack passed away, I could not bring myself to shoot his bow since I had ruined it by painting, sanding, painting, and sanding his bow. This past fall, I picked it up again and found myself shooting it better than ever. I then decided to look up Don from advice I got in another archery.com. That search led me to here where I got in touch with Don and made the deal to send my bow to him. It has been a wait but more than worth it! I admit I was getting a bit frustated and anxious waiting around to see if my bow was still in good shape. So now I say: Thank you Don for a beautiful refinish on a priceless bow! And thank you Trad Gang for the help in locating Don's services!
From what I've read, that ole bowdoc can do miracles. You done good to get him to resurect your critter stick! :)
Enjoy!
Let's see some pics of Jack's as well as Don's work.
I hate waiting for stuff also, but people stand in line to get custom bows built all the time. Waiting for someone like Doc or Rich to do it right is the only way to go on a true collectible.

Chuc-
I know you don't really want that ol' Jack Howard spoiling any shooting time with your Morrison so just go ahead and leave it on the patio and I'll be by later to pick it up!! :D
I just got two bows back from Don. A 56 bear kodiak special and a Damon Howatt super diablo. Both bows were completely restored and looked great. Don is the man when it comes to restoring old bows.Don did get a little busy this past spring entertaining the boys at bear camp and that slowed him down a little. Great guy from my conversations with him.
Don Ward is truly gifted Three Arrows. He's done several bows for me and in spite of the value placed on "original finish" I consider Don's work to be an improvement and these bows are even more valuable to me because of it. I've made a lot of friends in archery over the years and they rank among the best overall but my association with Bowdoc is really one of the most rewarding. Glad you're happy with his work. Grant
Wow thanks guy's..I'am truely humbled...bowdoc
and he can COOK TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and he can moonwalk when wearing that grey fedora.!!!!!!!!
BOWDOC ROCKS! The BEST there is bar none IMO. PICS PICS ????<><
I do a good job refinishing bows myself, as good as any "factory" new finish I've seen. But my work is not in Don's league. PERFECTION in finish is my description of Doc's refinish. His finish is far better than new.
