When I first started TG, my best friend was getting a divorce and he got took to the cleaners financially. He sold off almost all of his stuff to fight to keep his lil boy..a member here sent me a recurve so I could help him out. I had just switched jobs and my wife and were expecting our first child so money was tight on our end too..anyway, I got him set up and he hunted two seasons with the bow and took a doe to fill his freezer. Things are starting to turn around for him now, and I got him set up with another bow. So to honor my promise from the person who sent me the bow...it's time to pass it on.
It's a RH 55#@28", I've cleaned it up and added a new rug and shelf plate.
So if you know of a person who could use the bow to put some meat on the table or in the freezer please let me know...times are tough, so all I'll ask is to keep passing this bow on and a pic to add to my hunting journal.

The generosity on this, and the keeping of one's word, within the Gang; is outstanding !!
Very inspiring Drew,
I'll throw in a half dozen Zwickey Eskimos and a feather rest. The heads are slightly used but have lots of deer left in them.
When you find a home for the bow send me an address and I'll ship them out.

Drew - if the bow has not been taken I think I have a good canidate for it. He is 17 or 18 just graduated form high school working part time and going to college this fall. He is a real good kid.
We took him to the GLLI shoot with us this year because he is the base guitar player in the band that played Saturday nigth. Well lets put it this way he had a total blast and loved shooting, he is hooked for life. The only problem was he could only go shooting when somebody else was not shooting because he had to borrow someone's bow and arrows.
Oh yea, I will throw in a 1/2 dozen Chundo arrows and a shooting glove!
Jeff, I think he would make a good person...I've been in the same position being a broke college kid (although gas wasn't as expensive) and after two years I had all my roommates eating vension & rabbit!
Let's work out how to get the stuff to him...
His name is Jerrith, can't remember his last name right now. However we go to the same church and I see him at least once a week so if you want to send it to me I will get it to him.
He is going to be so pumped and shocked I can't wait to see his face!
Here is a pic of the unsuspecting recipient of the Trad gang familys generousity playing at a concert at the Michigan Traditional Bowhunters Jamboree in Grayling!

Jeff...it's says image has been moved or deleted.
When I was in college our Fraternity Mascot, a huge St Bernard chewed my bowstring in half and when the bow blew it scared him so bad he went out an open window onto a 3rd story roof. About 4 of us risked life and limb to save that worthless mutt.
I was so broke I could barely afford a bowstring at the time. I think a young college student would be a great candidate. Give me his address and I'll ship him some heads.
Daryl
Jeff, Let me know his draw length, bow weight ect and I will toss in 6 aluminum arrows and a quiver. I will need your address for mailing purposes.
Jon
Jeff, it looks like Jerrith will be set up with a bow, arrows, broadheads and quiver!
Daryl, great story and thank you!
Jon, thank you very much!
AA,
Neat of you to reach out and identify that kid.
Drew, great way to "pay it forward!" (Great movie with that theme BTW)
AA, keep in touch. As I get into this move, maybe I'll uncover some stuff to shoot to him. After the last move to here, I still can't find 1/2 my stuff... !
Maybe something by way of camo that doesn't qute fit anymore...stuff seemed to shrink in those rubber tubs...can't figure any other reason they're too tight!
Drew, does the bow have a place for a Quikee Quiver to be used, the type that screws on, I will toss in a quickee quiver and the holder that screws onto the side of the bow. When you get done with this kid he will have everything but the deer standing in front of him, lol
Jon
Jon, it does...in fact I think it had one on once and the holes are now filled. So re-mounting would be easy! Thanks for everything too..the next shoot I want to meet you and shake your hand!
If we can find an arm guard and glove, he'll be set. Because I'm tossing in a knife too!
Drew...good work bud!!!! Let me know if i can assist with anything...
I'll toss in a neet tab with my package and a custom armguard that was given to me by a fellow Trad Archer.
Do you want me to justr send this stuff to you so it's all in one place?
Trap
Drew, I need a shipping address, arrow length and bow weight.
Jon

Daryl-funny story ,I can picture it
Great work!!!! Thats an awesome thing to do!
:clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Hats off to you.
Hey Jon if you wanted to make those arrows 29 inches I think that would be great!
Guys this is just awesome!
Jeff, I've given most of the guys my address so we can get everything together...I'll probably just take a road trip and drop all the stuff off to you if that's ok?
Sounds great Drew! What an awesome thing you started than watching the rest of the Trad family jump in is enough to bring you to tears
Drew,
Should have two boxes in the mail today. Tube with arrows and a smaller box with bow quiver and a few other things.
Jon
Thanks Jon, I'll let you know when I get them!
You didn't say, but I think that is a Red Wing Hunter recurve, my old one. I'm glad it worked out for your friend, and to know he put meat in the freezer with it makes my heart glad. I'm sure hunting helped him during his hard times also. If my memory serves me right, another member was looking to give a K-Mag to a needy person and your concern for your friend touched me. I'm happy things are better for him and the bow will go to another who needs it. I recently put another one in the hands of a man that needed one and he is having a ball with it, and I believe he'll harvest with it this year. Good on you for passing it along.
That's the one! I sent you a PM...thank you again!
I got the package from Jon last night...THANK YOU! Arrows, tips, quiver, armguard, tab, inserts, nocks, bow rope and hook, and extra silencers! This young man is going to have everything to go hunting!
