I'll be moving to Richmond, Kentucky in late July or early August. I was wondering if there are any Trad Gangers near there. It sure would be nice to have someone to shoot with and help me get familiar with the area.
-
Just be sure and come to the KTBA shoots in Harrodsburg starting later this month. I live a pretty good ways from Richmond but there are several from that area. They should chime in at some point. ktbaonline.com

Heck ya man your about an hour from our KTBA club, Kentucky Traditional Bowhunters Association, a butt load of public land, archery deer season and archery fall turkey open Sept 1 -Jan 15.
What brings you to KY?
-
Hi Guys,
The KTBA shoots look great. I will definitely be attending those.
My wife just accepted a job teaching at Eastern Kentucky University. She starts in the fall. I work from home for a company based in Missouri, so I can live just about anywhere.
I am really looking forward to Kentucky. I'm from Missouri, but we have been in Texas for a few years. The people here are great, but the hunting situation is alot different than what I was used to in Missouri. I think Kentucky will be similar to what I'm used to. Thanks for the replies. I look forward to meeting you guys at the shoots.

Doug Day aka Ky longbow.
See ya soon:-)

Hey John don't forget to keep in touch with your bear buddy when you get it all fiquered out. Good luck Greg
-
Hey Greg,
How could I forget the man with the fastest knife in all of Kodiak! Guys, if you're ever getting circled by a Kodiak bear while quartering a blacktail, Greg is the man you want to have with you. Once I get Kentucky scouted out (hopefully with the help of these nice guys and gals), you'll have to come down.
p.s.
Do you think you could make it for a week of Missouri Whitetails this October?
-
You will love Kentucky! Great people and exceptional hunting make it a wonderful place to live. Good Luck!

I live in Richmond. If you need any info or anything else, just ask. I know where the KTBA is as well as most other clubs in the area. Even know a couple more trad shooters who live real close. Keep us posted and welcome to KY..

hope to see you at the shoots this year, our schedule will be posted soon
-
Thanks for posting, everybody. I am really looking forward to the move. It looks like I only need to be in the state for 30 days to get a resident license, so I should be all set for fall deer and turkey. Thanks again everybody, I look forward to meeting you all
-
The move is almost here! We should be settled in by Aug. 1st. I'm looking forward to meeting you Kentucky guys and gals. Hopefully somebody will be nice enough to point me in the right direction for some public land whitetails and small game. Do any of you guys do any canoe-in hunts on the rivers around there?
-
John and Greg,
I am doing my best to round up some slow, blind Missouri slickheads for you to shoot at this fall. The crop on my farm is looking good so far. I saw a doe during turkey season that looked like she was gonna have a dozen.
Allen called me last night and said he would go to Nebraska with us next April to stick a Merriam.

Kentucky is an absolutely beautiful state. You'll enjoy the scenery and the hunting opportunities. The Ky Klassic is held not far from there I believe.I'm about as close to Kentucky as you can get and still be in Ohio. And if you're a motorcyclist No Kentucky has unbelievable roads for riding.

Looks like you're going to have to add to more letters to your Handle. LOL

Glad you're coming ! Welcome ! I live down by that guy that stepped in the stuff he and she both saw !
