this will be my first year hunting with my recurve(take down made with parts from Bingham)I have a couple of questions: Do I need to pull the string off of it every night,or can I leave it strung for a few days? Next,if it's ccold in the morning do I need to do anything special to limber up the limbs so they don't shatter? Thanks Tim
I leave my widow recurves strung. I hang them by the string on two brackets on the wall, so the bow hangs parallel to the floor/ceiling...No quiver on bow so it hangs straight. If you store it standing in the corner, you could end up with a twisted limb. Never leave a strung bow in a hot car...it does'nt have to be summertime for it to be too hot in a car.

Im leave mine strung.
Leave it strung. If you can't hang it, be sure to lay it flat on its side until the next use. Keep it away from the heat!
The cold shouldn't hurt it. I had mine out in 7 degree weather for 4 hours before shooting with no problem.

you can leave it strung for long periods as long as you store it flat on the ground. I leave mine strung at months at a time never had any problems. Don't lean it in a corner or hang from a nail. Under the bed is always a good spot. Actually if you unsting and re-string the bow improperly you can twist the limbs. The cold won't effect the bow so don't be scared of it breaking.
