BILLS BILLS BILLS...

I don't know If I can pull off my moose hunt.  All this stress is causing my shots to widen.  I can make 80% of my shots @ 30 yards.  

I don't know if I can pull off my moose hunt on the 31st.  Gas is $7 a gallon where I'm going to.  And Im going to need at least 35 gallons for my destination.  Please help calm me down.

And on top of things, there is this young woman I really wanna buy dinner for, but I don't have the money.  

What ya think, should I cancel my once and a lifetime first trad kill for the love of my life or go the distance and get a moose with trad equipment?

I'll find out tomorrow on Sat. the 9th, maybe I'll just say I'll call her or something.

Grr... choices choices.  This is the perfect girl for me; Alaskan, a Commercial Pilot, and drop dead gorgeous.  I've been dreaming of becoming a Commercial Pilot for years. (I'm a ramper at an airlines atm but I do got my private pilot's license.)

Help me out, give me advise   :notworthy: .

Can you fill up you vehicle and get together some extra 5 gallon gas cans from your buddies?  Might be able to shave some off.
If you are going to be so tight it's miserable on this hunt then why go.  On the other hand if you can make it happen DO It.  If you think she's the one it would be better to know now if a little hunting trip is gonna be an issue instead of fighting about it for the rest of your life.

agree with bear heart...go on the trip.  if you you are going to be with her long-term, its best to know how she will react to the trip now vs. later.  she'll be around when you get back!

Hunting trip for sure!  If it will work out now with the girl, it will work out later as well.  Go get the moose!

Thanks guys, you guys are second to none.  I'll let you guys know tomorrow about my hunt.  

But this girl is worth it.  She'll be here flying hopefully.  And I'll be back to load and fuel her planes   :archer: .

There are moose and women born everyday just not were I live!!!!!! If it was me I'd be hunting, I see women everyday, haven't seen a moose yet  :(

I would go hunting for the moose because, like mod10g, I live in Oklahoma where there are lots of good looking women but no moose. How long is this hunt going to last -- like a week or two? Is the girl not going to wait that long for you? It's not like you are joining the foreign legion or something. Any relationship that will be killed by a moose hunt is not going to last anyway, so go on the hunt and resume the relationship after that dreaded week or two of being apart. Man, you are whipped!

If she's worth your time and effort, she'll be there waiting for you when you get back.  If she isn't, find a new one.  Go on the hunt.  Charge the gas...you WILL pay it back.

Sorry, I just don't see the dilema.  It's a no brainer, go shoot somethin!

kill the moose and take the tenderloins and make a killer meal for her when you get back.You cant get moose tenerloins at the restuarant.Throw all the fixings in.You know  a good bottle of wine and some aspargus in cream sauce,musrooms with the tenderloins or something.

She will be impressed with what a fine hunter you are.Thier preprogrammed that way from way back you know LOL.You can kill 2 birds with one stone.

If that doesnt work dont blame me.At least you went moose hunting.

Steelhead nailed it. Of course if you go after the Moose you have to kill one. If you come back empty handed, it might be tough to spring for a really nice dinner. No presure lol.

Take her with you and get her to pay for half the fuel.

Finding a good woman in Alaska is a lot harder than finding a good moose.

I say let her know you are headding out of town for a hunt but when you get back you would like to take her to dinner, then go, if she is interested at all you will have her thinking about you while you are gone, it will drive her nuts waiting. If shes not interested then staying wont change anything. Dont listen to Deadpool he's only 16 I bet he will think different in 20-30 years.

Lots of good advise here.  

I would say similar things.  Don't compromise your passions for anyone.  especially a new love interest.  you have no idea where its going.  this is not to say that you should be rude and unfeeling.  i almost gave up my hunting for my first wife.  She never understood my love of the outdoors.  but from the beginning my second wife understood and respected my desire to be in the wilderness.  

You may say to yourself, this guys is telling me to forget about the woman, this guy is divorced, what does he know.  and i can respect that.  just 4-fletch said.  be yourself.  

As for bills, i sure know what you mean, but the thing is, if you let this slip, you will always make excuses for money.  buckle down, work Over Time, get a second job, take on a side job, scrimp, save, eat cheese sandwiches and drink water for a few lunches, sell something you never use.  The gas will be the least expensive part of your trip, i hope.  

When you get back, do what the other guys said, make your prospective gal a fantastic moose steak dinner.  

By the way, i am 45 years old and always make excuses for money.  i hardly go anywhere, although i have three kids, a mortgage, car payments, gas, electric, water, cable, internet, cell phone....goodness, i just depressed myself.

Which came first the woman or the moose trip? Did she come onto the scene after you had the moose trip planned? Or was it the other way around? Is this a serious relationship or are the two of you only friends at this time? Are the two of you saving money to build a future together or is this not an issue?

The #1 thing (in my opinion) that makes a woman sexy is self-confidence and I am guessing that she didn't get to be a commercial pilot without a good supply of self-confidence. The second trait a self-confident woman seems to have in their corner is being very opinionated. These two traits can make a woman of this caliber very challenging to deal with at times. I know I married one. But the one thing that this type of woman respects is a man that is honest, upfront and confident in what he wants. This type of woman has little to no respect for a wishy washy man. Unless she is looking for a man that she can control.

So if this is a serious relationship I would suspect that she already knows about the moose hunt and is expecting you to go. If the relationship is casual or fairly new then explain to her that you had this trip planned before the two of you met and that money is a little tight because you have been saving for your dream hunt and you will see her when you get back. My guess is she will respect you for following through with your plans and going on the hunt. If not there are always mail order brides!  :D

You're stressed !! I've been down & out for about 6 weeks now w/ the GOUT, the doc's think, now maybe some type of Arthritis ?? They don't know !! off work,, bills gettin Higher & Higher !! Cant walk, cant shoot,, This really stinks !! Plus it's really starting to cut into my BOW BUYING FUND !! Oh well, I still got my "TOMAHAWK".... for now... GO HUNTIN "MAN"... Good Luck... A few thoughts from a married guy with kids......

I told my wife upfront(before we were married)that I hunt/fish and always will.  There will be times that I am gone hunting/fishing for a week or weekend.  

I told her that wasn't going to change, so she had to decide if she could live with it and wanted to move forward with our relationship.

She decided she could and here we are 6 years and 2 kids later. I still go to Canada fishing for 10 days each summer and take several long hunting trips every fall.  Also, I hunt a good number of weekends during deer season which is long here in Ohio.

The point being, I told her upfront, stuck to it and she respects me for it. She understands that I am a MUCH better husband and father when I have a chance to unwind.  

Now, I take my daughters on squirrel hunts and SHE GETS FREE TIME to do her scrapbooking!

Go on the trip, women are just trouble. I know been married 12 years and have three kids and she's still trouble. Seriously if your young and single just tell her the scoop,and if she's into you she'll wait.

Well, I can't read minds.  I can't tell If she likes me or not.  Well I got nothing to loose, I'm just gonna go out there and ask her out next time I see her.

Go on the hunt! Bring her back some moose and invite her out to dinner when you get home. If you haven't asked her out yet, she'll never know the difference. And later when you get to know her better, it will be a good story to tell her!
BTW pick the woman you want wisely, I've got lots of buddies who's wives wouldn't think of going on a hunting trip...mine on the other hand LOVES to go on the hunt with me, we've had great time together in the woods for many years!

I won't tell you all the reasons that I'm right.  You'll have to trust me and in a few years you will KNOW I'm right ... Go hunting.  No matter what happens; if you get married and make baby pilots or if you get your heart broke, in a few years you will not be worrying about what she's thinking.  Either this hunt can be a memory to last a lifetime or the one that got away.  Go hunting.

It's not lust, I know she likes me.  She was looking for me a couple weeks ago.  

She was on a night shift flying, and I work mornings.  It's just that I am totally out of practice, never went out dating in awhile.

Ok enough about me, where's those pictures, hunting season is upons us!!!!!!!
