Does anyone have one? How do they shoot? Are they nice? I was thinking of getting one.
Ryan
One word.... YES!!!! Get on they're 90 day same as cash program!
My 70#, which I pull about 76# out of it, pulls like a 60# recurve and is just as fast as one(smokes my Bear Kodiak I had).
And they shoot where you look or point.
You will not be disappointed. I got the Diamond SS one-piece btw.
Steve
Wow, nobody else owns a Tomahawk?...*Listens to the crickets*
Steve
had a ss, 62"55#@28". it was my first trad bow. it was good, handle was not for me. if I remember right I was shooting 540-575gr woodies at about 155-160fps. it has been awhile back but that seems right. knowing what I do now, I would buy something used. a lonetree, should not have sold that one!
kirk
Yeah, take a look at the Classifieds. Some great bows on the cheap here.
Steve kinda wishes he bought a used one too, but Steve likes heavy bows.
great bow. one piece diamond SS , I agree
I don't own one, but I took my brother in law to 3 rivers to try one out. He shoots with training wheels currently. After shooting the tomahawk he thinks he may be ready to step away from the wheels. He had always shot with peeps and pins, never instinctively, and shot a six inch group at about twelve yards with his first 6 arrows.
skippy,
I have a 64" 55@28 Diamond Series Desert Fox one piece and I love it. It is very smooth and fast!
I shoot it better than my Black Widow PLV.
As soon as I can I plan on ordering a Diamond Series SS.
I highly recommend the Tomahawk bows.
Like kirkwhitehead said about the handle not being for him, I've heard others that don't like the grip shape. It fits me, but if possible, try one before you buy, the grip may not fit your style.
John
3Rivers carries a 30 day money back guarantee on the bows, test drive one and find out.
I like a low-wrist grip on my bowhand with mine, found better results. With a low-wrist grip I don't even use the locater grip of the bow, the first knuckle of my thumb is well past the center of the bow toward the shelf.
Steve
I've been shooting tomahawks for several years. Own two (#55 and 60#). Best, smoothest, most forgiving longbow that I've ever shot. I try other bows when ever I get a chance at Kzoo, comptons and other shoots, but nothing comes close to how my tomahawks shoot. If you have any doubt take advantage of the 90 days payment plan and the 30 day money back test drive. I know alot of people take advantage of those programs and rarely ever return the bow. Once they shoot them their hooked. dino
I don't anyone to think I was knocking them. It is a well put together bow but the shaping of the grip was not the best for me. I could shoot it very well out to 35 yards. funny thing is I did not know I didn't like the grip until I decided to buy a Lonetree. then a Horne, Hawg...........
well the search goes on.
kirk
Kirk,
Thats not a knock at all and a very good point. There's not a single bow out there that is going to satifsy every shooter. Some people will find they are just not for them. Lord knows I've shot alot of bows over the years that were nice well built but just not for me. Good thing there's a lot of excellent bowyers out there building some different bows. Good Luck on your search. ;)
Test Drive dude... Test Drive. All you pay is shipping if you don't like it.
Steve
I have a 64''60# Diamond Thunderstorm, I draw 29.5'' All I can say is, What A Bow !! I've had "MANY" but none like this, in the Hybrid Style anyway,, "EXCELLENT"..
