Title: Where to Go? ........Javelina Hunt
Post by: Greg Clark on August 06, 2008, 01:30:00 PM
I am planning on going early next year (winter/spring).  I am interested in hunting in an area similar to what is portrayed in the 3 Rivers javelina video if you have ever seen it (high desert terrain).  Not really interested in hunting them at an outfit that corns the roads.  I would consider pay areas as well as public hunt areas, but want to be in an area with good numbers so you will definitely get some stalks and decent chance for a kill.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Give Kent a call.  I think this is the kind of area you are talking about.

Also try the Amistad National Recreation area.  I live rite by it here in Del Rio, TX.  Theres not a huge population of javelinas, but it only costs 20$ for all year hunting.  Its public land. Its also bowhunting only.

Az has lots of them but i think you have to get in on the draw by Nov.  Always some tags left over.  Lots of linas too.
