I noticed on our own personal fruit trees that this year has been a bumper crop. I have heard that the native fruits are doing the same. For us I believe that the late killing frost last spring allowed the trees to build up enough energy to support a bumper crop this year. They didn't have to put out the energy it takes to made fruit and the seed they nourish last year so they have a bit of extra energy this year.
For every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. I just hope it isn't too widespread so the deer don't have to move to eat!         Pat

A few years back as I was driving toward my home in Cornwallville I noticed something cool. There were a half dozen turkeys in an apple tree in front of my place. The kicker was as the turkeys let some apples fall, two buck deer ate them up! That's not the first time I've seen deer and turkeys co-operate.

Not many apples here in my part of Maine but that is good. Makes it easier to pattern them when only a few trees are producing.

I am near Oneonta NY and we have just spot of apples. I have several trees that are loaded, but next door the owner has a full field full of apple trees and he has near zero apples on the trees. He said he got two hevy frosts in late MAy that did his apples in..

The hickory and oak trees have a large mast crop in my hunting area near Batavia, NY.  I hope to sit by one of the abundant white oaks!

Hudson River Valley trees are heavy with apples!!!!!

Too bad you have to get permission to hunt an apple orchard to take advantage of them.   :banghead:
