My Friend John, invited me on a coon hunt. I gladly accepted. When he saw me with my bow he kind of smiled and said that it would be difficult to get a coon with my bow. (He's a compount shooter) Because the coons tree up very high and are hard to see. I guess it was my night. The coon was about 20 ft high and was on a small branch. My first shot grazed him my second went through the chest. Hunting with dogs was very exciting. I really enjoyed and can't wait to do again. Hope you enjoy it. Gilbert

Gilbert nice hunt good shooting at nite.Did you use those limbs I sold you.Kip
Hi Kip,
Yes I did. I really like em. I'll be using them in Alaska this Sept on Black bear. Hopefully I'll have the same results.
I really admire the fight in a coon. He was half dead when he hit the ground but he still had enough fight in him to last a several minutes with the dogs.
Take care
Good luck on your next month.Kip
nice shot indeed...
those coons are pretty wild.. we have a bunch of them here where i live... they go crazy over our fig tree in the backyard.. we get woken uo to them fighting in the middle of the night. it drives my dog nuts... :banghead: i usually fire a few shot's out of my slingshot... :D
Atta Boy!!
Thats cool!! Kinda of like a poor mans cougar hunt.
Awesome!
I hunted blue ticks for years. Best dog going for me. I shot several coons with the bow, just be sure not to turn the dogs loose until you are sure the arrow passed thru the coon. Good going!!!!
was that coon taken recently?
