When I was coming out of the woods on the last night of hunting, I had my things piled up with my pack ready to come out of the woods, I didn't notice but my bow had fallen off the top of my pack,
And I stepped on it !
The Finnish peels off like it's dried glue that's really old, the bow is only two years old. Can I taken and sand off the finish and redo it?
What would be the best to use ? And can I purchase just a small amount? I would like to do it is dull finish just like it is. I don't want it shiny The wood on both sides is bamboo. It's a custom bow, John McDonald. I've thought about sending it back to him and letting him do it. But I would like to put a little more durable finish on it than that.
What was underneath it was grass and snow, and I have soft rubber boots, I didn't step down hard because I noticed it right away and let up with my foot. But I'd like to put a little more durable finish on it. This just scrapes off with your fingernail.
Also were is a good place to get it from. Or is it better to have somebody else do it, I've never done it before.
Give me some suggestions please.
Thanks
Carl

Have the bowyer inspect it and refinish it, that way it is done the same all over. No big deal I dropped mine in gravel the day I got it....It happens

Is it a selfbow? sounds like parrifin wax as a finish.
