I and my scouts have been on the receiving end of the gangs generosity plenty of times. I have a hickory stave that is fresh cut, but beautiful. Straight grained and clear of any knots. The growth rings are tight. I figure that somebody could use it this winter. I have a heat box that I could throw it in for a week or two to speed up the process. I will throw in a bamboo backing strip. It is 1-1/2 " wide and 72" long. It will need to be planed. I will take names this week and next week because I will be on vacation. I will send the 2 pieces to the winner on the condition that they do a build along. I haven't seen one in a while. Please only participate if you are serious about building the bow. Thanks to Tradgang for all they do for kids!!!

Thanks Brian. Please add my name. I've been wanting to try building a bow.
Please put my name in the hat. Just getting ready to go find and cut some
What a generous offer. Please do not add my name to the list. I just wanted to say I look forward to seeing the end results :)
Ron
Thats very generous. Its a pleasure to open this site and ramble on about such a great passion with people like yourself. I'm building my first board bow and would like to try a hickory stave. Please add my name as well. Thanks.
can i do a japanese style long bow?if yes i am in as well.
I'm working on a Hickory Holmegaard Style bow now, and have a BBI glue up on order from CA, plus looking for a good Osage stave again - so I'm NOT in on this most generous offer - but I surly will be following the lucky winner's build-a-long. Way to go, horatio, great offer.
Put me in If the bow is made successful Ill give it away to some lucky kid.
How about a Bamboo Backed Recurve?
Sign me up please.

When are You going to draw the winners name?
Well I was going to wait until the end of next week but there isn't as much interest as I thought there would be. I think I will let it go through the weekend and draw a name on Monday.
Brian
Kool, If I win. I'll be making my wife a bow. I think a BBH pyramid bow would be great, might even put some reflex in it too.
