You also cut a 2317 twice as long as a insert and glue that to the shaft.
Check out Badger Arrow...cheaper than 3R:

Footed, and screw adapters plus a little weight.
I might try that one day.
Called Kustom King the other day looking for them, said they had been out since last hunting season. Bought mine at 3 Rivers. I wished KK had them, heck of alot cheaper then 3 Rivers, must be why they sold out. I'll have to look at Badger the next time I need some. But I got them all installed and they work great. Adds an extra 50 grains up front. I'll see how they hold up when I stick a bear with it here in a month.
I'm am also going to drill a hole in the end of my shaft to accept a A.I.M. skinny carbon insert..i have a jig for that inside my head right now..then set the insert with some slow drying epoxy and spin check the shaft while curing to make insert set true...I'll also seal the inside of the bore with some Thin industrial set glue to strengthen back of the insert hole....uummmmmmhhhhhhhhhh why hasn't anybody else tried this.........
