Title: Brass insert glue
Post by: BowHuntingFool on July 26, 2008, 12:11:00 PM
What does everyone use for gluing in their brass inserts! I tried to use Fletch Tight to no avail! Will duco work? Any tips or tricks are welcome!

Thanks guys and gals!

I use a gel cyanoacrylate (super glue)...I have to grind or scrape a busted shaft off the insert...

fletch tite and duco are for attatching fletching to your shafts.
for inserts-
use either a super glue type or a two part epoxy. also , j.b. weld works really well.
or you can just use the old standby, hot melt glue.

JB Weld

I had to remove an insert just the other night that was glued in with JB Weld. Took more than 30 good swings with a drill bit in the shaft.

I went with 2 part epoxy after having no luck with hot melt.
