Title: 40# bow and Stinger 4-blade?
Post by: david janssen on July 26, 2008, 08:38:00 AM
Do any of you use 45# bows or less and use the 4-blade Stingers? I was wondering if the bleeder blade would stop penetration on lighter bows. 10 yd. shots on whitetails only.
Thanks for your advice

hit'em in the boiler and you'll fill the freezer.

my primary hunting bows are both 46#ers. a BW SA III and a RER Vortex. I use multi-blade heads with both and have no problem getting complete pass thrus on mature whitetail deer.

My wife shoots in the low 40's and uses the four blade Phantom. She gets pass thrus on deer and bear. The Magnus should not be a problem for you since the bleed blade is smaller than the one on the Phantom.

I used a 45# Wes Wallace recurve last fall and had a pass through on a whitetail buck with a 125gr magnus stinger 4 blade. I'm going to keep using them..Mike..

That's the exact head I use, no troubles all, and you do see the poundage of bows I use in my signature line.

You will have no troubles all, like they said above hit it right, and you pack the freezer tight !

I should have added that when Fred Bear came out with the four blade Razorhead (I was in High School)  the average bow weight was in the mid 40's and no one had any trouble with them. It didn't take long for them to become the bh to have killed the most game. Just follow the other advise and make sure they shoot straight and that you can sharpen them.
