My new 58" Carbon foam limb Morrison Dakota came in the mail yesterday and I had it out shooting last night as soon as I could rip it out of the box and grab a handfull of arrows. Very sweet shooting bow my first 3 arrows went into the kill zone of my 3D target at 20 yards. Quiet, fast, and easy to shoot I am pretty happy.

Very nice! What woods?
i second that, very nice bow.
Yikes!!
I knew I shouldn't have clicked on this one. :scared:
Killdeer
nice, what's the draw weight? I claim dibs !!
58" long and 54lb @ 28". I am drawing 27" so am pulling around 51,52lbs. phenolic Riser,Carbon foam core limbs with kingwood limb veneer and.I shot about 40 arrows this evening the bow shots very good and is fast. I tried to Chrony it but my Chrony never works in the evenings I think it's something to do with the lower light level I will reshoot this weekend to get a reading.

Very nice!!! Congrats on the fine bow! :clapper:
Thats a sharp looking bow for sure!I will have to shoot one of those carbon foam models someday.
enjoy
Congrats, Steel. That's a beauty! I am getting to know the feel of the foam core limbs as well...pure sweetness.
My hunting buddy bought a Morrison carbon foam core longbow and after shooting beside him I had to make a call to Bob and get my own. His bow is super quiet and we Chrony his at 190FPS with a 470gr arrow and he is pulling 48 @28. I have a Supershrew and Blackcreek longbows both pulling 47lbs at 27" they both shoot about 155-170 FPS same arrow weight so the Morrison carbon foam core is great for performance. It also draws very smooth my bow draws like it is several lbs less than what it really is.
Steel, not trying to be a wise ass here but that looks like a phenolic riser, not macassar ebony
Great looking bow though
Jacob
Nope J, that is macasser, you can see the grain in it.
Danny
It looks more like layers of linen, I think.
If you look closely you can see that it is black with gray layers. and the all layers are straight and in excatly the same plane.
The curves in the layers comes from the shaping of the riser.
Sorry, I know it smartass like to say this stuff.
Steel, take a look at Bobs stock bows with maccassar...
J
J, I think you are right and it is phenolic but I am not totally sure. BOB had this bow in stock when I called he may have said ebony by mistake as when you deal with as many bows as he does I am sure things run togather. The first thing I noticed when handleing the bow is it had a nice soild feel to it and it seemed like it had more mass weight in the riser than I expected. One reason I think it shoots and handles so well. Thanks for the info I am pretty sure you are right.
If it feels heavier, it's probably ebony.
J, is right. I looked at that bow on the stock list. Phenolic riser and Kingwood veneers on the limbs. Looks awesome, great limbs...Mike
Thanks Mooseman it is Phenolic and Kingwood veneers you are right on the money as I checked into it myself today!
If the bow were a 60" or 62" I'd have snatched it up. I really like the looks of that bow, just too short for me. Good luck with it, if ya get sick of it and can figure out how to stretch it out a bit shoot me a pm :) Mike
Yep, its still a great looking bow.
Bet its a shooter too. Good luck with it !
Jacob
Well, I had considered Kingwood veneers on my dakota foam/carbon limbs, but decided to go w/black until the right snake came along, then you had to go and post this! That sure is a sharp looking bow...You won't be getting much done around the house for awhile. Tge
