Title: Fixing arrows
Post by: Stone Knife on July 21, 2008, 05:40:00 PM
I just got done fixing 17 arrows that my wife and daughter broke at our last shoot, were all going to Denton. I have about 3 dozen for them when my wife says to me, we need more arrows it's going to be a long weekend and we broke all those in one day   :banghead:

That's what the vendors are there for!  Take them to the shoot, buy 'em some new arrows and you'll be a hero.  And then just think of all the arrows you can repair next week.  Enjoy!

When you get to Denton buy the most expensive dozen arrows you find. Give six to your wife and six to your daughter. Tell them how much you love them, then......

Explain that The Arrow God, aka "Three Fingers Sal" will find them and dye mommas hair pink and sew daughters toes together if they loose, break or get dirty any arrows.

Wish I Were Going With You Guys!

I trimmed them up and put some points back on them because they broke at the points, don't give me a hard time about spine   :jumper:  Mike I'll see you soon enough and being the nice guy I am I donated some of my private stash to the cause.

11/32 shafts can be fixed really quick. clean the brake, sand down the end so that you can slide it in a piece of 2317 Easton shaft. Make it about 3" long. If you have a piece of shaft that is to short, just cut then to be placed in the other end on the Alum shaft to mount your point.
Sorry for the bad pic.

they are my tree rat arrows in the pic. One has glue on point the other a screw-in. make them meet half way  or up to the insert. Little work, but you get second life from a good arrow.
